Cryolipolysis Mechanism

Triglycerides in adipocytes crystallize at temperatures between –5°C and −10°C — a temperature range well below the threshold for skin or connective tissue damage. When the fat layer is cooled to this range using the vacuum suction handles, fat cells undergo progressive crystallization and membrane disruption, triggering cryoapoptosis (cold-induced programmed cell death). The body’s macrophages then infiltrate the affected tissue, phagocytosing the dead adipocytes over the following 4–12 weeks. Clinical evidence shows up to 30% fat reduction per treated area per session.
