The UltraCool is a professional cold air skin cooling system engineered to protect the epidermis throughout high-energy laser and aesthetic procedures. Using a variable-frequency air compression fan combined with advanced refrigeration technology, it delivers a continuous, precisely controlled stream of cold air to the treatment zone before, during, and after each procedure — preventing thermal injury, eliminating treatment-associated pain, and enabling practitioners to safely deliver higher energy fluences than would be possible without epidermal protection.
Why Epidermal Cooling Matters
High-energy laser and light-based treatments (diode laser, IPL, Nd:YAG, fractional CO2, RF microneedling) generate intense thermal energy within the dermis. Without active surface cooling, heat conduction to the epidermis can cause thermal damage, blistering, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and unacceptable pain — particularly on darker skin tones. Cold air cooling creates a thermal buffer at the skin surface that allows the dermis to receive therapeutic energy while the epidermis remains protected.
